Oceanic Society Expeditions

Oceanic Society Expeditions serve more than 3,500 people a year through ecotourism expeditions, volunteer vacations, and northern California whale watching trips. Oceanic Society is a non-profit organization that helped pioneer ecotourism and voluntourism, and has operated its Expeditions program continuously since 1972. Every trip booked through Oceanic Society supports ocean conservation.
Sample volunteer programs include dolphin research in Bahamas, sea turtle research in Costa Rica, shark and coral research in Palau, humpback whale research in Mexico, and coral reef research in Belize. Programs generally last 1-3 weeks and are led by an experienced researcher / naturalist, with no previous research experience required to participate.
Oceanic Society Expeditions offer the opportunity for the public to enjoy and learn about wildlife and natural habitats and to assist scientists with conservation-relevant field research.
