Catholic Medical Missions Board (CMMB)

Catholic Medical Mission Board's Medical Volunteer Program seeks to place U.S. and Canadian licensed health care professionals at facilities in developing countries. Primary needs are for physicians, surgeons, registered nurses, physical therapists, lab techs and other allied health professionals. Volunteers are placed in Africa, Latin America, Caribbean, and Asia. Depending on skill and location, the mission term may vary from two weeks to two years. Room and board provided. Travel costs, health insurance and stipend provided for long-term volunteers.

Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT)

Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT) offers an organized, nonviolent alternative to war and other forms of lethal inter-group conflict. CPT provides organizational support to persons committed to faith-based nonviolent alternatives in situations where lethal conflict is an immediate reality or is supported by public policy. CPT has projects in Colombia, Palestine, Iraq, the U.S./Mexico borderlands and Native communities in North America. Delegations are a primary way to become involved in the work of CPT. Christian Peacemaker Teams sends short-term (7-14day) peacemaker delegations into crisis settings around the world. These delegations link communities experiencing violence with concerned individuals, churches and groups. Delegations offer participants a first-hand experience of CPT's on-the-ground experiment in faith-based, active peacemaking. Delegations are open to all interested people and do not require specific nonviolence training. Delegations are also the first step for those considering joining CPT's Peacemaker Corps either full or part time. CRISPAZ

CRISAPZ - Christians for Peace in El Salvador was founded in 1984. We are a faith-based organization dedicated to the mutual accompaniment with the church of the poor and marginalized communities in El Salvador. In building bridges of solidarity between communities in EL Salvador and those in our home countries we strive together for peace, justice and human liberation. As an organization we are politically non-partisan and committed to non-violence. One of the best ways to see if El Salvador is a place you may want to volunteer is to organize a delegation with family and friends. A minimum of seven people are needed to organize and trip and we have the capacity for as many as 15 in the group. Spend 7-12 days learning about this developing country with themes such as Church of the Poor: Memory of the Martyrs, Economics for Peoples: Understanding Global Economic Reality in El Salvador, Rural Communities: Survival, Sustainability and Solidarity, Youth: Current Struggles, Future Hopes to see where your heart is captured. If you desire more, we have a short term (3 month) and a long term (15 months) volunteer program.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity International is an ecumenical Christian ministry that is working in partnership with low-income families around the world to build simple, decent housing. Habitat operates in nearly 3,000 communities in nearly 100 countries. Habitat's Global Village Work Trips allow volunteers to travel to locations around the world to help build Habitat houses with families in need. Global Village trips often last one to three weeks and usually cost $100 per day. The trip cost includes all food, lodging, transportation, emergency health insurance and a donation to Habitat. Hope Corps

Hope Corps, the volunteer arm of World Hope International (WHI), is a program that facilitates short-term (one week to one year) outreach opportunities for groups or individuals in various countries in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. Many Hope Corps volunteers participate in 10-14 day team trip sponsored by their church or organized by WHI around a specific purpose. Such teams involve Village Partnership teams, Teacher Mentoring Teams, or Anti-Trafficking Awareness Teams. Hope Corps also offers longer placements for volunteers who have been overseas before and want a more in-depth experience, for 1 month to 1 year. These placements focus on specific responsibilities in the context of the local WHI office in the host country such as Staff Care Volunteer, Volunteer Accountant, or Teams Coordinator.
