GeoVisions

Join GeoVisions’ Conversation Corps and live with a family and teach them conversational English up to 15 hours each week. Want something more exciting? Become a GeoVisions Conversation Partner. You can help tour guides, importers and exporters, and even work with Tourist Police with their English. It’s fun and it’s exciting to learn about a new culture just by talking and to experience first-hand what it’s like to work and live in the country of your choice. The Conversation Corps and Conversation Projects are available in 18 different countries. And some accept couples.

For those that prefer a more “traditional” teaching program, GeoVisions offers programs in schools, helping with the classroom as well as teaching. Programs can be one month or more.

Institute for Field Research Expeditions (IFRE), a 501 (C) 3 under IRS code, is a non profit organization. IFRE is registered with the state of Louisiana . We are also registered with the state secretary of Texas as Institute of Field Research Expeditions . The main goal of IFRE is to carry out authentic field research programs on ecology, environment, wildlife, archeology, and other areas affecting global communities. The secondary objective of IFRE is to offer affordable and high quality volunteer abroad and internship abroad programs. In collaboration with local organizations, IFRE presently offers volunteer abroad programs in Nepal , India , China , Thailand , Peru , Costa Rica , Brazil, Ghana , Kenya , South Africa , and Tanzania . Volunteer abroad programs are focused on working in orphanages, teaching English, working in health projects, and conservation sectors.

For those who can brave long walks, late night shifts, insects, and occasional downpours, working with sea turtles can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. Volunteering on a sea turtle nesting beach is not a vacation; it is an opportunity to make a difference, participate in scientific research, and meet new people. Turtle conservation volunteering is hard work but the benefits include new experiences, lots of good exercise, and learning a new language. SEE Turtles is a non-profit conservation project that will connect you at no cost with a sea turtle conservation project in Central America. We work with volunteer projects in Mexico, Costa Rica, Tobago, and Guatemala. At most turtle projects, the work involves participating in nightly beach patrols, looking for nesting sea turtles helping researchers collect data. Volunteers at most projects need to commit to at least one week and be able to cover food, lodging, and transportation costs.
