Service Learning Trips to Kasese, Western Uganda
About us: The Foundation for Community Development and Empowerment’s (FCDE) philosophy is deeply rooted in and committed to positive sustainable development practices that uplift communities and make comprehensive and lasting change. FCDE empowers communities to direct and achieve their own development objectives by increasing the capacity of the organizations already working in the region. The Service Learning Trips (SLT) are developed in conjunction with the Ugandan local organizations to determine the needs they would like fulfilled by the SLT participants. Carefully planned itineraries with host family stays are organized from 10-14 days with a minimum groups of 10 participants ranging from ages 18-65. Examples of SLTs include working with local organizations to discuss and establish grant writing proposals or marketing plans. If you are savvy in social media skills you can create a social media plan as well. If you have a passion for international development and want to make a lasting impact in people’s lives, this is the program for you! Rolling SLT dates.
