The Financial Services Volunteer Corps (FSVC) is a not-for-profit, private-public partnership whose mission is to help build sound banking and financial systems in transition and developing countries. FSVC operates programs around the world in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

FSVC primarily deploys current practitioners, who are often recognized as leading financial, legal and regulatory professionals, to deliver its technical assistance. These experts serve as unpaid volunteers and participate in missions providing in-country partners withstate-of-the-art technical assistance. These short-term missions are practical and results-oriented and provide partners with targeted information to meet their specific needs.

FSVC is a demand-driven organization that delivers a wide variety of technical assistance in response to requests from our in-country partners.

FSVC’s core work concentrates on strengthening commercial banking systems, developing central bank on capabilities and building capital markets.

Other major areas of work include the legal framework for the financial system, payments system development, pension reform, combating money laundering and financial corruption and strengthening corporate governance.
