Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT)

http://www.cpt.org
Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT) offers an organized, nonviolent alternative to war and other forms of lethal inter-group conflict. CPT provides organizational support to persons committed to faith-based nonviolent alternatives in situations where lethal conflict is an immediate reality or is supported by public policy. CPT has projects in Colombia, Palestine, Iraq, the U.S./Mexico borderlands and Native communities in North America. Delegations are a primary way to become involved in the work of CPT. Christian Peacemaker Teams sends short-term (7-14day) peacemaker delegations into crisis settings around the world. These delegations link communities experiencing violence with concerned individuals, churches and groups. Delegations offer participants a first-hand experience of CPT’s on-the-ground experiment in faith-based, active peacemaking. Delegations are open to all interested people and do not require specific nonviolence training. Delegations are also the first step for those considering joining CPT’s Peacemaker Corps either full or part time. Peacemaker Corps members staff CPT’s long-term violence- reduction projects around the world. For current project locations and a list of upcoming delegations visit the CPT website.
